  BRAT (Gitea Fork) v1.0.0

  Initial release — install and update beta Obsidian plugins from GitHub AND self-hosted Gitea/Forgejo instances.

  What is this?

  A fork of the excellent obsidian42-brat plugin that adds support for custom Gitea/Forgejo instances. Paste a Gitea repo URL (e.g. https://git.yourdomain.com/user/repo) and BRAT will auto-detect it, fetch releases, and install plugins — same UX as the original.

  How to install

  1. Download the attached main.js, manifest.json, and styles.css
  2. Place them in .obsidian/plugins/obsidian42-brat-gitea/
  3. Enable the plugin in Obsidian settings

  Usage

  • GitHub: user/repo or https://github.com/user/repo (works like original BRAT)
  • Gitea: https://gitea.your-instance.com/user/repo (auto-detected)
  • Each plugin entry stores its provider + optional token per-repo
  • Supports frozen versions, incompatible plugin overrides, and themes
